We understand first hand how overwhelming a new build or renovation can feel!
Decision fatigue is a real thing!
Most of our clients have some ideas, but they don’t know how to pull it all together. They also don’t feel confident about the plan, because they can’t visualize how it will look and feel. Thankfully we have technology and creative software on our side, to help you visualize your new space. In this blog I am going to share how we bring your vision to life before the project even begins!
There are many ways to create visuals of a project, and the one most commonly used is a traditional floor plan. The floor plans provide a top-down view of the layout of your new space, including room dimensions, wall placements, door and window locations, and the overall flow of the space.
While I will agree that traditional floor plans have a place in design. Even the most detailed floor plans are not enough to create a clear visual of what the end result will be, as they do little to help you imagine how your new space will look, feel and function.
Important details like room functionality and flow or furniture placement are often overlooked or not placed to scale, opening you up to missed opportunities and potential issues.
I cannot tell you how many times I have come across floor plans for homes that just won’t work for my clients. The space is either too large or too small for the furniture selected for that space, and the placement is not optimized for flow. Essentially there are a lot of missed opportunities.
Unfortunately, sometimes this realization comes at the end of a new build or home renovation project, because they didn’t bring a designer into the project from the beginning.
As an interior designers, our team has developed a process to vet out all these issues, create a detailed design plan, and provide visuals to give you confidence in your project before the construction even starts!
If there is one thing I would love for you to remember from this blog it is this…
Contractors are not designers
Designers are not contractors.
Each role is essential to a successful project.
Yes, your contractor is the one called in to execute the plans for your new home. But it is an Interior Designer who acts as the visionary to create a detailed plan to bring your dream home to life, while also making sure it works in your life.
Renders are an invaluable tool in the design process and offer so much more than traditional floor plans. They transform static floor plans into dynamic visualizations, providing you and your designer the ability to experiment and perfect the space before any physical changes are made.
At Made with Grace and Grit, creating renders is like working a puzzle or crafting a piece of art. We meticulously adjust and layer elements to create a virtual version of your space that highlights the best possible outcome.
Creating renderings before the first nail is hammered in is so much more cost-effective than having to make changes during the construction process. They also empower our clients to be active participants in the planning process, allowing them to make informed decisions with confidence from the very beginning.
This beautiful historic home had a half story that was under utilized. The client had no idea how to incorporate a full bath as well as how to layout the space to function well as a primary suite. We collaborated with the contractor and engineer to plan tub placement for the load and then build the space around the tub. We utilized every inch of the space to provide a dreamy oasis.
This lodge is used to host a group of hunters. We needed to maximize functionality, sleeping space, and spaces to display his animal mount collection. The client was really struggling to visualize the space and these renders gave confidence to her design decisions.
This was a remote project we worked on. It was actually a new build home that was already completed. They needed all new furniture so we utilized renders to provide visuals for the selections we had made for all their furnishings.
Aren’t these just the coolest. I love that we can provide a whole HGTV experience with these renders on the very front of the project. The process we have created is designed to provide a fun and positive client experience. It also is meant to take the nerves and guess work out of the project.
