Neutral Fall Tablescape

A few weeks ago I received a message from a local television producer inviting ME to do a segment on their show.  I was thrilled and absolutely terrified, they would entertain the idea. Then if I am completely honest, I started to panic a little bit.  I am just a girl decorating her house and sharing a peak into my heart. I am no professional. Did I mention I can be a complete goober. Just a recently I shared with a group of women in the CHURCH kitchen,” I  purchased a $20 hand job from Walmart.”  🤦🏻‍♀️ (PS….. I meant a hand mixer…words are hard and I am NOT Betty Crocker). I am pretty sure I will never live that one down, and I gave the big guy a good chuckle.

BUT then I felt that familiar gentle nudge pushing me forward…Words from my bible study echoed back, “God never puts us in a situation we aren’t equipped for.”  I spent so many years daydreaming about ideas, scrolling pinterest, and watching HGTV. Sure I did little things here or there, but truthfully I was afraid to fail. I was afraid to waste money on an idea that might not work out. Until finally I just started. Trust me there are some belly flops, but I have grown so much. This isn’t just about decorating my house, it’s about being brave enough to pursue what I love. This isn’t a show room it is our home cultivated with so much love. It  is a refuge for my boys when they need rest from the storms of this world….or South Dakota winter. My hope for this blog has always been to inspire woman like me to put their daydreams into action.

I said some prayers threw together some inspiration boards and headed to were great ideas are born…..Target, Hobby Lobby, and HomeGoods. 😉 This next tablescape is my favorite of them all. The Real Deal

I loved this one so much I put it in my formal dining room to leave up for the season! This look is just fluid with the rest of my home. My heart literally sings every time I catch a glimpse.

Each Place setting is layered with texture. I love the contrast between each layer. I loved these napkins so much I went back for a second set!

This little cream pumpkin was another one of my DIY projects. I coated them with cream spray paint then lightly misted them with a gold layer while the first coat was still wet. It was a beautiful accident how the finish dried.

These simple wicker chargers have been a staple in our house for years. We use them all the time when we pull out our fancy china…aka paper plates. 

I have been eyeing this grace sign at hobby lobby for months. I love the stark contrast between the warm wood and crisp white tile.

This piece of wood was actually found in a barn and gifted to me. Only time can create such a beautiful texture.  It is such a nice contrast against the more modern metal of this Magnolia Candle Opera. This metal and wood combination is found ALL over my home.

I know I mentioned in the last few post how obsessed I have been with Eucalyptus. It is no shocker that I gravitated towards this magnolia garland. It is very lush and thick for the price point! I can even see tucking other seasonal items or florals in throughout the season.

This little black and brown pumpkin is one of my favorites on the table. I think its the curling realistic stem.
